PDF (Adobe Acrobat) Downloads

To view the newsletter you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer since they are all PDF files. Click here to download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader for free.

 

Recorded Webinar Problems

If you are having trouble playing your Recorded Webinar you may need to download and install the XVID codec.  After installing the codec, you must re-start your computer. Refer to the instructions below.

Windows Help

If you hear audio but do not see the video when you play the webinar using Windows Media Player, you need to install the Xvid Codec. Follow these steps to install the codec.

  1. Go to the following link:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=1052&ssid=0&did=1
  2. Click the Click here to download button to download the installation file named Xvid-1.3.2-20110601.exe.
  3. Once downloaded, double click the file to run it and follow the prompts to install the software on your computer. The software will install the codec so you'll be able to play the video properly. Once the installation is complete, re-start your computer and you should be able to play the Webinar video.

Mac Help

If you cannot play the webinar using Quicktime player on your MAC OS you need to install the Xvid codec. Follow these steps to install the codec.

  1. Go to the following link:
    http://n.ethz.ch/student/naegelic/download/
  2. Click the link for XviD Component Binary to start the download for the Xvid_1.0alpha.dmg file. Once downloaded, open the .dmg file.
  3. Move the Xvid_codec 1.0 alpha.component and Xvid 1.0 pref App files to the Library/Quicktime folder on your computer. The Library directory can be found at your home directory (Click the Finder. Go to Macintosh Hard Drive). Do not move to to System/Library/Quicktime directory.
  4. Re-start Quicktime (if already open) and play the movie.

 

CD-ROM Set Codec Error

If the CD-Roms from the 16 CD-ROM Home Study Course are giving you a "codec error" you may need to install the voiceage codec.  Click here to download.  After installing that codec, re-start your computer.  

If the CD-Roms still do not work properly, try installing this codec and then restart your computer.

Software Installation Problems

When installing either The Probability Calculator or Expected Return Calculator you may receive an error that reads "The application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem. "  If this is the case you need to download the MSVCR71.DLL file and place it in your system directory.  You can download the MSVVCR71.DLL file by clicking here.  Once downloaded you simply need to copy the msvcr71.dll file into the directory c:\windows\system32 (and c:\windows\SysWOW64 if you have a 64 bit processor) and then it should run correctly.

 

Software Help Functions not working properly

If the help functions for The Probability Calculator, Expected Return Calculator or Option Evaluation Software is not working properly, you may need to install the following patch:

You will need to re-start your computer after installation for changes to take place.
