Due to both business and vacation travel this summer, we are going to alter the newsletter publication schedule for both June and July. This information supercedes the schedule stated in the previous issue of this newsletter.
- Thursday, June 18th (only one issue in June)
- Thursday, July 2nd
- Thursday, July 23rd
July 23rd is the fourth Thursday, so that is the regular publication date. From there, the normal schedule of publishing on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays will apply.
The feature article discusses the new companion volatility ETF’s – VXUP and VXDN. These were created by Professor Robert Whaley, creator of the original $VIX. They are complicated products, and this article is designed to shed some light on how they work.
Our market outlook (neutral) is presented on page 6.
There are not many recommendations this week: a THC put sale on page 8, and two conditional call buys on page 9.■
