By Lawrence G. McMillan

The fall of the year sees more seasonal trading patterns than the rest of the year.  Two more major seasonal trades are discussed in the feature article: the Heating Oil-Gasoline spread, and the Post-Thanksgiving Buy signal.  Both have worked well often in the past, although not every year.  Recommendations are made for both.

There is also a brief discussion of the “Three Days Before Thanksgiving” on page 3, although that is not a tradable item.

Our market comment is on page 6.  While the major indicators remain bullish, a “modified Bollinger Band” (mBB) sell signal is at hand.  A recommendation is made on page 6.

On page 7, there is a more in-depth discussion of mBB sell signals, as well as a discussion of the nagging negative divergence in breadth that has persisted since early last July.

A naked put sale in SLXP is on page 8, while on page 9 there is a volatiilty trade in MON, and speculative positions in FXE, SLB, and AMZN.  A hedged $VIX/SPY position is on page 12.■
